SYDNEY RESIDENCE
This new residence of 731sq.m. is located on a 1600sq.m. stand in an established neighbourhood in East Killara.
Approaching the house from the south the first view is of a rectangular steel “bridge” filled with diagonal ethereal bands spanning over a pond with stepping stones leading to the entrance. Views extend to the north side of the house through the double volume living space to the pool on the far north boundary of the stand.
The first impression of the home is of transparency and seeming weightlessness.
Two double garages clad in timber are placed at right angles to each other, with a turntable between them. An angled staircase connects the entrance hall with the bridge between the two upstairs wings of the residence.
From the entrance the view is over another water feature bisecting the building, with a lounge, guest suite and study on the east, and a spectacular double volume family and dining room in the middle, and an open plan kitchen on the west side.
